Our World through the Med Whirl
MAY 17 - Hundreds of activities take place across our nation on EMS for Children's Day, and during the particular week. On EMS for Children's Day, communities and medical staff are encouraged to concentrate their EMS Week activities on boosting shared awareness about the necessity for specific emergency concern for children.
This unique day has arrived on May 17th this year, although the history for it must bring your interest out. The 'Federal EMSC Program' partners each year with the 'American College of Emergency Physicians' to honor Seven Days for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS). As part of the week, Emergency Medical Services for Children Day (also known as EMSC Day) is marked at 'Wednesday' of this week between May 19th and May 25th. Use #EMSForChildrenDay to post on social media.
National EMSC Day was founded by the federal EMSC Program and partners with the American Pediatrics Academy, American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Emergency Nurses Association to promote knowledge concerning the need for improved care for children in prehospital, and acute care settings.
Ever wondered how important your family is for you and how its absence would affect you? It can never be felt until you experience homesickness. May 15 is the day when you celebrate the existence of your family realizing the fact that your well-being is all because of it.
The International Year of Families was designated in 1994 by the United Nations. It was a response to unusual social and economic patterns which have been influencing the stability of family in so many places. May 15 is a reason to remember the work started in 1994 and that has been held every year since 1995.
The significance of families, people, societies, cultures and all other caregivers is what they aim to deliver on this day. An extensive range of events is arranged at both, local and global level. The prime objective is to raise awareness on promoting early childhood education and lifelong learning opportunities for children, plus acknowledging the importance of parental education for their welfare.
The family is indeed the best part of life; it is simply irreplaceable. Cherish your family before it is too late. Happy day of families to people who have or do not have families, as you can find anyone you love to be your home!

May 10th is National School Nurse Day which is celebrated for all the services that school nurses provide the students with- the safety, health, and better academic performance. This day was designated by the National Association of School Nurse (NASN).
School nurses seem like just some people who look after children, but in actual, they are far important to them than this. They are the caregivers and lifesavers for students promoting health ideas to protect them from diseases and maintain good hygiene. Students- who are well-known as the future of a nation, have to be healthy and stable, both physically and mentally to work hard later; and nurses serve big in this regard.
School Nurse Day is just a day to remember their contributions, but we must pay our gratitude to them today because of all that they do for the children- This is to all the nurses out there: ‘You are precious!’
